Breezy is an adorable, VERY BUSY, little girl
who only weighs around 8.5 lb. The photo of her standing was the
closest we got to her being still and as you can see, 2 feet are off the
ground. Breezy went to a pet home at 4 months of age, but was crated
all day when her owner was at work, received inadequate exercise in the
evening, and ended up being a resentful, destructive, little bundle of
energy (who can blame her?). We are glad she was returned to us so
we can find her a more appropriate home who understands her need for exercise.
She would be a perfect jogging partner, agility prospect, or would be happy
in a home with a yard and another active Dachshund to help wear her out.
She LOVES everyone, loves to travel, and is crate-trained (has never messed
in her crate as long as we have had her back - at times crated up to 9
hours at night). She loves to hunt and will take off to go hunting,
so she needs a very secure yard. The light bulb went on at her first
field trial, and she now has several placements and only needs a first
place to finish her field championship. This is a delightful little girl
who loves to play with other dogs and is very food- and toy-oriented.
In one session, she figured out the full-size dog walk and the A-frame,
and didn't even notice the bang on the low teeter. This would be
an awesome agility dog. She is available to an active, involved pet

Patti is a small, silly, very lively, friendly girl who needs an active pet home. She is a lovely dark, chocolate/tan with brown eyes, not the usual green eyes that many chocolates have. Her conformation is nice but she needs more rear angles so we never showed her. She had 2 litters and we are keeping a daughter and son, so now Patti needs a home of her own. When she gets excited, she makes these funny leaps on her hind legs. She gets along with the other dogs but is definitely a bossy girl. She would probably do well in agility and the field. Reggie is a beautiful, light red boy with a darling personality. He quickly warms up to people and gives little kisses. He also "talks" to you if he feels he is being ignored. He's a playful, affectionate boy and gets along with all the other dogs, but he has no interest in hunting whatsoever, which is very un-Dachshund-like. He'd rather play with toys and cuddle and go for walks, but has no interest in running free in the woods or fields (as a matter of fact, the very idea horrifies him!). His conformation is gorgeous and he's a stunning mover, but he is rather large for a show dog at 13 lb., and he has a brown nose and nails that the judges don't seem to like, so he is available to a wonderful pet home for $200 (includes cost of neuter). We had been hanging onto Miss Kitty for show, but her topline is too soft. She is a small, cute, very lively girl who can be affectionate and silly (loves belly rubs), but is definitely timid in new situations. She loves playing with my Border Collie but is too dominant for dogs smaller than she is. Miss Kitty is rather weird in that she freezes when anyone reaches for her, but will not bite, so I would even trust her with kids. She seems very unsure about accepting affection and sits stiffly in your lap despite extensive socialization and loving, but will come up to you on her own if you are sitting on the ground and roll over for a belly rub or lean against you. Miss Kitty is gamey and likes to hunt. She really needs lots of one-on-one attention and would do good in a quiet home with another, more confident dog and with an owner who is very understanding and patient. Keno is a dark chocolate/tan doll with dark
eyes - so sweet and affectionate and wants to be a lap dog. He just
has not turned out for show so he is available as a pet (will be neutered

he would be a great agility dog - I have had him doing small jumps and
the dog walk and he is always on top of his dog house. He is eager
to please and loves to travel, although he is a little timid at first around
strangers and not used to children (he won't bite), so he should go to
a home with either no kids or older ones. Keno gets along fine with
the other dogs and is quite playful and active. This is not a dog
for an apartment unless he can go on long walks or jogs a couple of times

Timber is a truly gorgeous boy with incredible conformation, but he is also a very BIG boy at 15 lb., so we cannot show him successfully although he has some nice class wins at specialties. He is the sweetest guy with a lovable personality who loves everyone and loves belly rubs. I have been doing agility with him and he seems to enjoy it just like his brother, Tango. He did great at his first Novice Agility trial. He's a big mush puppy who loves to cuddle, too. I really hate to place him but I just have too many boys.
