Duchwood Kennels has been in existence for over 23 years breeding quality, AKC-registered, Miniature Smooth Dachshunds for pet, show, and performance events. We are also involved in field trials, agility, and earth dog tests with titles in all of these venues. Our emphasis is on sound temperament and movement. Most of our pet quality puppies are placed with families who have young children. We have been breeding piebald (or spotted) mini smooth dachshunds since 1990, but still maintain a separate line of solid red and black/tan show/pet/field dogs, as well.
Occasionally, we have show and pet/performance quality puppies and adults available for sale. Pet puppies are always sold on spay/neuter contracts with limited AKC registration papers and health guarantees. People interested in a pet puppy should be prepared to provide references. Serious inquiries from established show breeders are invited for show-quality puppies as we do sell our good ones, both solids and piebalds, but only on co-ownerships. Stud service is available to approved, show-quality bitches only. All outside bitches will be temporarily co-owned by us for the duration of their litters so that we will have control over where their puppies are placed.
Duchwood Kennels will always take
back any dog or pup we have sold at any time for any reason if the owner
is not able to provide it with a loving home. We will find a good
home for it or it will stay here permanently.
